Investment Process

Newman Dignan & Sheerar has direct access to proprietary research for the economy, the financial markets, and the individual companies and funds.  Our investment committee manages a Focus List of individual stocks and Managed and ETF/Indexed Funds.  The Director of Research is responsible for developing and analyzing all our selected research sources. Each committee member provides a specific area of expertise including fixed income, industry sectors and managing the selection process of active/passive funds in our clients’ portfolios.  Collectively we apply our best ideas to construct and update our client's portfolios, using value-based matrices as part of the decision making process.

We bring all of this knowledge and experience to formulate the portfolio structure and manage the investment process.  Our decision making takes into consideration the following criteria:

  • Asset Allocation
  • Diversification
  • Short Term & Fixed Income Investing
    • Interest Rate & Monetary Forecasts
    • Duration
    • Credit Risk
    • Taxable vs. Non Taxable
  • Equity
    • Style Bias Between Growth and Value
    • U. S. versus Foreign
    • Company Size (Large, Mid, Small)
  • Alternative Assets, Currencies, Commodities, Hedge Strategies, Private Equity and Real Estate.

The portfolios and their holdings are all tracked for their performance and value.

Our goal as professional investment advisors is to provide investment results that fit our clients long-term goals and is commensurate with their risk tolerance.

We differentiate ourselves from other firms by providing a senior relationship manager and portfolio manager for every client to provide comprehensive financial advice.
